Course Overview

Over the past decade, the number of freely available resources for studying (functional) genetics in wheat has increased dramatically. These resources, however, are often spread across different platforms/databases and require some skills and knowledge to be used to their full potential.

We have set up a training framework to help researchers of any background and level of seniority acquire these skills and knowledge. To this effect, the following set of presentations cover different aspects of wheat (functional) genomics, including markers, populations, databases, and more. While the files are numbered, each session is a stand-alone package, and they can be studied in any order.

Here we provide information and training about:

  • Genetic markers
  • Genome and Pangenome resources
  • An Introduction to the Ensembl Plants database
  • A summary of linkage mapping
  • Available wheat populations and germplasm
  • Methods for functional characterization of genes in wheat
  • An overview of functional genomics in wheat and related species
